Introduction

Welcome to the Papaya Open API. Our RESTful interface provides predictable, resource-oriented URLs; JSON-encoded requests and responses; and standard HTTP verbs, status codes and token-based authentication. All endpoints and data models are defined in our OpenAPI specification for easy reference and tooling support.

Use Cases

The API currently supports three primary workflows:

  1. Digital Ordering
    Integrate online ordering and delivery platforms with Papaya’s POS to enable real-time order placement and processing.

  2. Reservations
    Connect a restaurant booking system to initiate linked orders on the POS from reservations and walk-ins, and receive real-time order updates to enrich customer profiles and unlock new insights.

  3. Order Data

    Capture complete sales and order history from Papaya’s POS for accounting, inventory, or analytics needs. Ideal for syncing reports, reconciling transactions, and gaining deeper visibility into business performance.

To use the API, you’ll need a fully registered merchant account or be integrating through one of our approved partners.
